These four poems were written in response to art exhibitions.
Two of them were crafted through the proximity of creative complicity through affinity, love and admiration in response to the work of people I know and care about.
The other two poems urgently articulate disappointment and a need to reclaim what I felt the work sullied, and in turn voice a response to exhibitions that attracted me, failed my expectations, and I could add, offended me.Â
The contexts in which these poems were written differ, as well as the motivations. This disclaimer is to clarify that these poems are the outcome of a passionate tension with these exhibitions, for better or for worse.Â
